With her picture hat and fine dresses Catrina is the star of Mexico’s Day of the Dead festival. The dial was first hand-guilloched with a delicate pattern of intersecting arcs and flat diamond-shaped motifs, destined to remain visible beneath translucent enamel according to the technique of flinqué enameling.
